| ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The Women's Tennis Association Tour has selected the Saddlebrook Resort as the site for its headquarters.
The WTA, the governing body of women's professional tennis, currently has offices in St. Petersburg, Fla., and Stamford, Conn. The operations of both offices will be moved to the new site, which will be ready next year, WTA officials said in a statement released Monday.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed pending the drafting of a final contract.
``We are delighted to locate our corporate headquarters at Saddlebrook Resort,'' said Bart McGuire, chief executive officer of the WTA Tour. ``Saddlebrook is one of the world's leading tennis training facilities, an outstanding venue for corporate meetings and entertainment, and the home to many of our top players.''
The resort is located approximately 12 miles north of Tampa. |
