| FILDERSTADT, Germany (AP) -- Martina Hingis on Wednesday
passed the $2 million mark in prize money this year when she qualified
for the quarterfinals in singles and doubles at the Porsche Tennis Grand
Prix.
Even if she loses her next matches, Hingis is guaranteed a paycheck
of $13,250, which brings her yearly earnings to $2,008,734. Hingis passes
Lindsay Davenport, who withdrew this week for the Toyota Princess Cup in
Tokyo, for second place on the prize money leaders.
Venus Williams, who also is not playing this week, leads all players
with $2,030,650.
