| NEW YORK (AP) -- Martina Hingis and Lindsay Davenport,
ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in the world, on Thursday became the first to qualify
for the season-ending Chase Championships of the WTA Tour.
The $2 million tournament, which will be played Nov. 13-19 at Madison
Square Garden, features the top 16 women's singles players and the top
eight doubles teams.
Hingis and Davenport have met in the finals of the last two Chase Championships,
Hingis winning in 1998 and Davenport last year.
